The Motto
Arise, awake, always ask why, and never settle for anything less than the truth.
The above statement is the motto for this blog, the unifying theme in the articles and writing presented here. I thought it prudent to take a moment, step back, and contemplate what that means.
“Arise, awake…”
Some readers will recognize the similarity to the words of Swami Vivekananda, “Arise, awake, stop not till the goal is reached.” Indeed this is the inspiration. Behind my desk is a framed portrait of Swami Vivekananda with this very quotation. Swamiji’s spirit of fearless inquiry and constant activity is something I’ve always sought to instill in myself.

Quote/Poem of the Day
Friend, our closeness is this
anywhere you step
feel me in the firmness beneath your feet.
How is it with this love,

Music Sketch
Much in the same way artists do sketches from time to time, I do music sketches. This is my latest. It’s very rough around the edges, but I like the feel of it. It could actually be a pretty good song eventually, I really like the main line. I called the song Contemplation, it has some samples I’ve recorded, a few synth lines, a pretty basic beat, and a nice orchestral main melody loop. Let me know what you think!
