India: Kingdom of the Tiger
This documentary features excellent cinematography, beautiful enthralling scenes, and more importantly, a message about the uneasy balance between man and nature. It is worth checking out!

Finally got my studio set up here in my new place. Threw together this little musical sketch in five minutes just to demonstrate the instruments to a few visitors.

Jagganath, the original Juggernaut
Fascinating fact of the day:
Interestingly enough, the world Juggernaut, meaning an unstoppable powerful force, was originally derived from the form of Lord Krishna worshiped in Puri: Jagganath. The name Jagganath means Lord of the Universe in Sanskrit.

Jai Jagganath!
Also, a bonus video of the Rath Yatra in Puri.

MySpace Music Page Up
It’s still under construction, but a remastered version of my song Contemplation is up on a new myspace.com music page I set up. In the coming months the page should shape up, and more music should appear, I hope.

Music Sketch
Much in the same way artists do sketches from time to time, I do music sketches. This is my latest. It’s very rough around the edges, but I like the feel of it. It could actually be a pretty good song eventually, I really like the main line. I called the song Contemplation, it has some samples I’ve recorded, a few synth lines, a pretty basic beat, and a nice orchestral main melody loop. Let me know what you think!

Mobile Composing/Recording Studio
I recently got a MacBook Pro from Apple, and so far I’ve been very happy with it. I recently ordered an M-Audio Ozone to go with it. It’s really an amazing package, the MacBook has tons of processing power, and the Ozone is so versatile. It is a midi controller with 25 keys, various adjustable knobs, and most impressively it doubles as an audio interface. It has two mic preamps, with the option to connect a mic with XLR inputs and phantom power. Basically, not only is it a nice compact keyboard, it also lets you control software packages, and lets you hook up external sources like mics, guitars, etc. Hopefully it will work out well with my upcoming trip to India.

A hilarious cartoon that I haven’t read in forever. I recently took another look at the comic, and it still looks good. A sample
